Megaton is proud to support this fantastic competition, which is being run by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts. They're the people who throw swanky awards parties, with loads of top celebrities and film stars!
Entry is open to teams of three, aged between 11 and 16. All you have to do is come up with a brilliant idea for a game. You don't have to make it, because that's the prize!
Excited? Brain bursting with ideas already? GOOD! Just grab two mates, work out your game in as much detail as you can, then head over to our competition page for the chance to win tickets to the BAFTA Game Designers Workshop at the Eurogamer Expo in October. Not only will winners get to play the hottest new games, months before they come out, but you'll also learn more about how games are made and get expert help in presenting your game design. So what are you waiting for? Get thinking!
Have you ever played a rubbish game and though "I can do better than this!" Or maybe you've had a flash of inspiration in the bath and come up with a fantastic game idea, but didn't know what to do with it? Well then the BAFTA Young Game Designers competition is for you!
The winning team will not only take home a lovely award for the mantlepiece, but they'll get to visit EA's Bright Light studio for some work experience. That's the studio that is making the videogame for the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows movie! After developing their idea with the Bright Light team, the winning game will zip over to Abertay University, where some of the UK's best games developers are trained. A working version of the game will be produced by the university, so you'll actually be able to play it!
And get this - every single team, including the winning team, is free to sell their game idea to a proper games publisher! Your game could be on the shelves next to all the big hits!
