DarkStar One won't be for everybody. It takes a long time to really build up your weapons, and it can be quite cheesy as well. If you're totally into science fiction, and have always dreamed of flying from planet to planet in your own cool spaceship, then this is definitely worth a look. There's nothing else like it on the consoles!You'll need money to get anywhere in this game, but there are loads of ways to earn some more. You can buy goods in one galaxy and sell them somewhere else. Sometimes you can buy illegal cargo (like videogames!) but get caught smuggling and you're in trouble! You'll also get a small bounty payment for every space pirate you destroy, and can also take on more dangerous missions from space stations. If that doesn't appeal, you can become a pirate yourself and attack innocent ships to steal their cargo. Don't expect the police to ignore this sort of naughtiness though!
Put up a fight!
There's no avoiding combat in DarkStar One. Whether you're battling to solve the mystery of what happened to Kayron's father, or just trying to deliver your cargo without getting blown up by pirates, you'll need to defend yourself against enemy ships. Some of them are massive! Luckily, the controls are dead easy to use, and you'll be blasting the bad guys in no time.
