The aim of the game is to boost your score up the international online leaderboards, but if you just want to play for fun, that's OK too! You'll never run out of lives, but each time you die and continue you lose all your points and have to start collecting items all over again.
Pick up the deluxe edition and you'll get a bonus soundtrack CD and an extra disc containing a desktop toy for your PC. Nice!
