Review!!
Actually, the stars of this game aren't the Ghostbusters. Not the ones from the movies anyway. They're a bunch of new recruits, and you get to join them as the plod through a bunch of missions, trying to stop another ancient evil from taking over the world.
It's all a bit boring though. The graphics look a bit scrappy, and even when there are loads of ghosts flying around, it's never very exciting. The game also gets really annoying, especially in boss fights, when it's really easy to get knocked out. You have to wait for another character to revive you, but they can get knocked out while doing it. Then the same happens to the next character. And the next. Before you know it, it's game over and you have to start over. Grrr.
Sanctum of Slime is one of those games that you wouldn't even notice if it didn't have the Ghostbusters name all over it. The story is told through really long comic book sequences that go on for ages, and the gameplay gets tired before the second level. There are loads of great twin-stick shooters to choose from, and it's a real shame that this isn't one of them.
When New York is overrun by spooks and spectres, who ya gonna call? The pizza man? Hmm, not a bad idea. We are a bit peckish...but no! Ghostbusters! That's who ya gonna call! Then we'll get some pizza. Yum.
It's a twin-stick shooter, which means you move with the left stick and shoot your proton pack with the right stick. Enemies come flying at you from all directions, and you can use extra weapons to take 'em down if they're proving too tough.
Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime is out now on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network. Woooo.
