Hot stuff!
Based on the wicked DreamWorks CG film of the same name, in this game you have to guess what? train your dragon for battle! Collect and buy items to make them stronger and then engage in epic fights with other fire-breathing beasts. Ace!
Playing as either Hiccup or Astrid, you can explore the island of Berk, collecting ingredients and doing jobs for the villagers in exchange for items to make your dragons stronger.
There are training sessions where you can learn new attack combos, and mini-games to earn rare items. Our fave is the one where you have to race through the sky.
Be a lizard wizard!
When you've finished story missions, you can enter a tournament where you can choose your best dragons and battle the other kids from the movie.
Finish a tournament in first place and you're allowed to choose another dragon for your collection!
It's easy to start with, but you need to practice to beat the later levels. You might find the game gets a bit frustrating towards the end, and having to keep stocking up on food for your dragons between every fight gets boring prettty quickly.
Verdict
How To Train Your Dragon really lets you explore the world of the movie, and has loads more interesting ideas than the usual games based on hit films. There's lots to do, and while some of the item collecting can get a bit boring, there's always a cool dragon fight to keep you busy!
Top Tip!
Try and get a Deadly Nadder as soon as you can, and level up its power attacks. Its long tail means that it can damage enemies from far away, and at the top level each hit also causes an explosion!
Blast yer mates!
You can't play the game online, but you can have two players on the same console. If you ever get tired of exploring and taking part in tournaments, just get a mate on another joypad and have a big dragon battle!
