Fancy a break from frantic action and non-stop blasting? This quiz game is packed with wicked wildlife, fascinating facts and cool clips!
There's over 90 minutes of high definition video clips, loads of great photos and 5000 questions to keep you busy. If you love animals, then you'll love this chance to show off in front of your mates or family. And this isn't about cuddly wuddly bunny wabbits either - the categories on offer cover lethal predators, fearsome animal attacks, mind-boggling natural feats and weird undersea creatures!
As well as the main quiz modes, there are loads of extra games and puzzles. Stat Attack is a Top Trumps style card game where you pick the coolest features of different creatures and try to win all your opponent's cards. There are also jigsaws, sliders and block puzzles. There are even secret sections that can only be found by solving clues and zooming into the right bit of the globe. You might think that quiz games can be a bit boring, but there's loads to do.
Brainboxes!
The National Geographic Society has been around for 122 years, so the game has a huge stonking pile of information to draw from. Some of the clips are really cool, especially the ones where they get deadly snakes to attack the camera!

There are two main game modes. Quiz Mode lets you play solo, or with up to four teams, in games that last between 40 and 80 questions. Quest Mode sends you around the globe, completing episodes by answering questions on different animal topics and unlocking more stuff to do. The globe is interactive as well, so you can change it to show the Earth's temperature, weather patterns or even the tectonic plates that cause earthquakes!
Most of the questions are simple multiple choice, where you earn points depending on how fast you answer. Sometimes you'll be asked to bet some of your score on the next question, or a right answer might let you steal points from another player. You can choose between easy, medium and hard questions, but even some of the easy ones might stump you. Sometimes the game asks you things that aren't covered in the notes, clips and photos, which is a bit annoying, but each time it happens, at least you learn something new!
Nat Geo Quiz may not sound like the most thrilling game around, but it makes a fun change from other quiz games like Scene It and Buzz, and it might even help you do better in school! It's a pity there's no online multiplayer, which would make the game more interesting when there's nobody at home to play with. Fans of spiders, snakes, scorpions and sharks probably won't mind the rough edges and boring presentation though. Give it a go!
