Ridge Racer 3DS

Review!!

This is a blistering arcade racer that has no patience for the fussy realism of other driving games. If you like to take a brightly coloured sports car and throw it around hairpin bends in a terrifying 180 degree drift, then you should feel right at home in Ridge Racer's petrol-fumed world!
Four player online racing makes this one of the best handheld driving games around. You can even use the camera to take a custom photo which will hover above your car during the race, so everyone can see you when you roar past them to the finish line!

3D or not 3D?

Racing games are dead common on every gaming format around, so the 3D in Ridge Racer really needs to stand out to make it worthwhile. Guess what? It does! Whack that 3D slider up to the max and the road goes deep into your screen, allowing you to judge distance and corners with perfect accuracy. It's also good for more than a few "wow" moments when you scream past (or through) some stunning scenery. Driving games are perfect for 3D, and Ridge Racer gets it exactly right first time. Get in!

Ridge Racer is one of the greatest racing series ever created, but can it survive being squeezed into the palm of your hand and turned 3D? It's out now for the Nintendo 3DS, so let's find out!
Drifting is such a big part of Ridge Racer 3D that the makers wanted to be sure everyone could enjoy it. That's why there's a special drift button, instantly hurling your car into a tire-squealing sideways skid!
Ridge Racer uses Street Pass to swap "ghost" data with other players. In other words, you'll pick up a phantom copy of their best laps to race against, and they'll get your ghost runs to try to beat as well, just by walking past each other. Cool? You bet!
