Who?
Rocket Knight! Waddya mean, you've never heard of him? Well, it has been a while, we suppose. Rocket Knight, a heavily armoured possum also known as Sparkster, first appeared in a 1993 game for the Sega Megadrive. In it, Sparkster battled the evil pig Devotindos using his jetpack, laser sword and other cool gadgets. There was a sequel in 1994, but since then poor ol' Rocket Knight has only been glimpsed in other character's games.
That's all going to change this month, when Rocket Knight blasts back into action in an all-new adventure for Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network. He'll still be packing his traditional arsenal of wicked weaponry, and the view has been zoomed out to let you have more fun with his jetpack. You'll even be able to deflect enemy shots with your sword!
Flippin' heck!
You get two games in one with Rocket Knight. On one hand you get a scrolling action platform game, a lot like the original Sonic the Hedgehog games or New Super Mario Bros. On the other, the game flips and becomes a shoot-em-up, as Sparkster takes to the skies to blast hundreds of evil enemies!
If you reckon you're super rock hard and awesome at games, you can try playing in the Arcade Mode, which forces you to play one level after another without saving. If you'd rather kick back and have some fun, Freeplay Mode lets you choose which levels you want to tackle. You can also save your progress, so you don't have to beat it all in one sitting!
