Mabinogi

Review!

Although the game comes from Korea, it's based on Celtic mythology from Ireland and Wales. You can choose to play as a human, elf or even a giant, with each having their own native lands. Your character starts aged between 10 and 17 years old, and gets one year older for every week you play the game. Bet you wish you had a birthday every week!
It's completely free to sign up and play Mabinogi, but you will have to pay if you want to use any of the Premium features or create loads of characters.
There are loads of ways to play Mabinogi. If you don't fancy going in to battle or taking part in the big storylines, you can always lead a quiet life as a farmer, trader or musician. That would be a bit of waste, though, seeing how every character can transform into an awesome alternate form for combat. Who wants to be a tailor when you could be battling bad guys as a savage beast?
Don't just take our word for it! You can try Mabinogi for yourself, absolutely free, by registering at the official European site.

Mabiwhatnow? Mabinogi! It's a massive online adventure game that's been huge in Korea since 2004. It's now launched officially in the UK as well, so we can see what the fuss is all about.
There have been 12 big updates to the game, called Generations, since it launched in 2004. We get all of those, including the latest - Return of the Hero. The game also lets you keep pets and offers up special items at certain times of year. Check out these cool Halloween goodies!

The only downside to Mabinogi is that the graphics aren't particularly great, and it can take a long time to make the most of your character. If you put in a bit of effort, and don't mind a game looking a little rough around the edges, Mabinogi is a lot of fun.
