Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit

First Look!!

If Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit looks familiar in these videos, that's probably because it's being developed by Criterion Games, the company that gave us Burnout. They've brought everything they learned on that series, and applied it to Need for Speed. Are we excited? Oh yes!
Online multiplayer will use something called Autolog. This keeps track of everybody in the game, and records tons of statistics about how you race and what times you get. It then suggests rival racers to you, setting up connections between similarly skilled players. It's a bit like Facebook, but going at 200mph, and with less photos from the school disco.
Hot Pursuit takes place in Seacrest County, a racers dream with over 100 miles of road to burn up! As a gameworld, Seacrest County is four times larger than Paradise City from Burnout Paradise. Good thing there's a map!

Need for Speed has always been a top racing game, but it's about to get a big fat turbo boost upgrade in Hot Pursuit. It's cops versus racers on an enormous island, where you're free to drive wherever you want!
There'll be two different single player paths to follow. If you play as a racer then you've got to beat the other cars, and escape from the cops who are giving chase! Play as the police and it's up to you to stop the race, using loads of cool gadgets and weapons. You'll be able to set up roadblocks, drop tyre-popping spikes and even call in a helicopter!
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit roars into action on November 19th. Clear the roads!
