Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands

Preview!

Re-rewind!

As in the other games, you'll be able to reverse time to save yourself from a sticky end. But that's not the only trick up the Prince's itchy, sand-filled sleeve - he also has other elemental powers that will allow him to do battle with the undead creatures that stand between him and victory. You'll be able to turn water into solid surfaces, for example, so you can climb fountains! You can even call up tornadoes to attack your enemies. Wicked!
Returning to his father's kingdom, the Prince finds it under siege from an army of creepy undead monsters, rising from the sand. With help from a mysterious female Djinn (or genie, as we call it) he sets about saving the day. Well, of course he does. He's the hero!
Ready to get confused? OK, here goes. The Forgotten Sands is an "interquel" that takes place between The Sands of Time, released in 2003, and The Warrior Within, which came out in 2004. This makes it the second entry in a series of games that finished in 2005, with The Two Thrones. This game has nothing to do with the 2008 game, even though that was called Prince of Persia as well. Got that? No? We don't blame you. Let's just enjoy the runny-jumpy-fighty action.

Jump to it!

If you like throwing yourself off buildings and running along walls, you'll be chuffed to pieces that Prince of Persia is finally coming back to consoles. Here's the lowdown on his latest adventure!

Movie Mayhem

The Prince of Persia movie is looking pretty groovy. It's produced by the same people who brought us Pirates of the Caribbean, and is directed by the guy who brought us Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. It stars Jake Gyllenhaal as the Prince, with Gemma Arterton as Princess Tamina. Packed with laughs and special effects, we can't wait!

Wii love it!

Wii players will be getting their very own version of the game, developed especially for motion control. The Prince has an all-new power - the ability to manipulate the desert sands themselves! You can use this to open up new areas, or to make awesome sand castles. Probably.
Why does the Prince never get hungry in the desert? Because of all the sand which is there! Geddit? Oh, please yourself...
