The Secrets of Spirit Tracks!

The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks is an awesome game but it’s easy to miss a lot of good stuff hidden away. So here at Megaton, we thought we’d bring you a cool guide to some of Spirit Tracks’ best bits, and where to find ’em!

Roaming Rabbits!

On the way to Snow Land, just after you’ve got the cannon, there’s a train station. Stop there, and you’ll find the Rabbit Haven!

There’s a strange but friendly man wearing a rabbit costume – talk to him and he’ll give you a net to catch bunnies!

Rabbits are usually hiding behind rocks. You can toot the whistle to make them bounce out of their hiding place, or just blast the boulder so they have nowhere to run!

Then you start a minigame where you have a short time to catch the rabbit. Just tap the touchscreen when it stops, and you’ll bag the bunny!

Stamp Your Feat!

One of the best side-quests comes from the very first station, Outset Island! Visit old man Niko after your second trip to the Tower of Spirits, and he’ll give you a book to fill with stamps of all the places you visit!

There are 20 stamps in total. When you get 10 and 15, head back to Niko and you’ll get some very special items in return!

Sometimes you’ll reach a station with a stamp stand that you can’t reach yet. Just make a note of it on the map with your stylus and come back when you’ve got the right tools for the job!

Once you’ve got the lot, you’ll get a brand new special move. It’s a big help when things get tough on the home stretch!

Castle Challenge

In the Castle Town in Forest Land, there’s a building at the bottom-right of the map where a woman stands in front of three doors. Behind these doors are three tough challenges where Link must battle several rooms filled with enemies!

You can try the first challenge after beating the Forest Temple, the second after the Ocean Temple, and the third after the Sand Temple. For the last, you’ll need as many hearts and health potions as you can get your hands on!

You’ll have to fight Stagnox in the last room of the first challenge, and three bosses on your second trip. It’s worth coming back for more, because you get rare treasure each time you make it through in one piece!

The third door is a real challenge even for expert players, with five bosses to beat, and a sixth secret boss you won’t see during the story. Ace stuff!

Yo, Ho, Ho!

Tucked away in the Ocean Land is a Pirate Hideout, with an exciting quest to complete. If you bring some ice to Papuzia Village, you’ll get a Force Gem which will open up some secret tracks to take you there!

Rescue Remedy

When you go down into their dark, dingy den, you’ll see a villager in trouble. You need to shoot arrows across a large pit at the goblins (called Miniblins) on the top screen to rescue him!

Watch out for the nets they throw at you. Shoot them in mid-air before Link gets trapped!

There’s a large enemy to get past at the end. Hit him with as many arrows as you can!

The villager will ask you to take him back to Papuzia, but you’ll be attacked by pirates on the way. Shoot them all with your train’s cannon and get him safely home for another Force Gem!

Target Practice!

Near the Goron Village in Fire Land, there’s a fantastic minigame you can play. Shoot targets with your train’s cannon, as you roll up and down a real rollercoaster of a track!

The blue targets just need shooting once, but if you’re quick, you can hit the red ones three times for a total of 90 points!

After a while, the targets start to spin around. Be careful not to hit any Goron heads, as you’ll lose 30 points for each mistake you make!

If you get over 1000 points, your Goron guide will make the track longer, giving you the chance to get an even higher score!

The better you do, the more chance you have of getting a rare treasure from the chests at the end, though it’s random which one your reward appears in. But you will get a large rupee from the other chest, so you win either way!

Swinging Snakes!

At the station called Mayscore in Forest Land, you’ll get the chance to play another cool minigame called the whip race. For this one you’ll need your snake-whip to climb to the end of a long and dangerous track!

It’s just like the path up to the Ocean Temple boss, only longer and harder. You need to tap quickly on the posts to keep Link swinging forwards. Hurry!

It’s quicker to press L or R to use your whip rather than tapping the icon in the corner!

When thorny arches block Link’s path, take out the two thorns by grabbing them with your whip from a safe distance!

If you make it to the top in 90 seconds or less, you’ll get a bomb bag which allows you to carry more bombs – great when you want to take out bigger enemies!
