City of the Daleks tips!

Lost in London? Stuck on Skaro? Check out our fab tips for City of the Daleks!

Act 1, Scene 1

Walk to the right to the barricaded Underground entrance. Walk between the two walls of sandbags and use the upside down car as a bridge. Push the taxi.

Act 1, Scene 2

Use the sonic screwdriver on the gate. You'll meet Sylvia, the last of the human race. Follow her down the tunnel, using the sandbags to hide from the Dalek. At the end you'll need to fix the control panel to switch off the electricity. Now just go down the tunnel and climb the ladder at the end.

Act 1, Scene 3

Make your way back to the TARDIS. Go back over the upturned car. The parked taxi will shield you from one of the Daleks. Wait for the Dalek near the TARDIS to look away then quickly sneak past behind it.

Act 2, Scene 1

Use the sonic screwdriver on the Dalek headpiece to get the internal sensor. You must now complete the first maze, being careful not to touch the sides. Now leave the room and head left. Keep following the wall to your left and enter the first room. There's a white crate to your left. Push it out of your way and then push another white block against the far wall. You can now climb up. Look at the table in the middle of the consoles to find the kontron crystal. Use your sonic screwdriver on the door.

Act 2, Scene 2

Head left out of the door and make your way down the corridor. The exit you need is on the right. Now look for a doorway on your left - this is where the Dalekanium coil can be found. Retrace your steps back to Amy and solve the second maze.

Act 2, Scene 3

Head right and run past the yellow Dalek when he looks away. Go through door on the right. You must now use the sonic screwdriver on three consoles. The first is in front of you, the second is on the other side of the room. The third is underneath the eye. Solve all three puzzles by picking the right symbols and rotating them so they match the shapes that come along. Use the door to the left of the eye and dodge past the yellow Dalek. Enter the lift. Talk to the Emperor Dalek. When you ask him to show you the power, Act 2 will end.

Act 3, Scene 1

Pick up the Dalekanium wire off the floor. Go round to the other side of the machine and examine the Dalekanium rod lying in the acid pool. Use the wire and connect them to the control console. Go back round to the front of the machine and use your sonic screwdriver on the control panel to set the trap.

Act 3, Scene 2

Leave the chamber and head left. Watch out for the Varga plants! They're easy to dodge if you watch their timing - they throb twice just before they attack. Get as close as you can, wait for it to strike and then dash past when it goes back to sleep. You're heading for the broken steps on the right, where the light is. Climb down these, then go through the door back into the room with the eye. Make your way past the Varga plants and use your sonic screwdriver on the control panel under the eye. Pick up the electronic eyeball.

Act 3, Scene 3

This is where it starts to get tricky, with both Daleks and Vargas to avoid. You're controlling Amy, so leave the room and go left. Follow the wall to the left and take the first door you come to. In the far corner is a broken Dalek headpiece, the first of the items you need to find. Leave carefully and now follow the corridor to the right. At the end you'll find a Dalek weapon. Return to the Doctor, being careful to stay in cover whenever the Dalek patrol is heading your way. Give the items to The Doctor and you'll trigger the third and final maze.

Act 3, Scene 4

You now need to navigate a Dalek-filled central chamber! Amy goes first, so head right and steer a path between the four Daleks. As Amy fades in and out of existence, you can wait for her to turn invisible before making any dangerous dashes! Head up the curved ramp that goes around the room. At the top is the Emperor Dalek's chamber. Climb inside. Now it's The Doctor's turn. The Daleks have been blinded and are squawking and shooting wildly. Head left this time, past the white Dalek, and make sure you don't walk in front of any Daleks. You need to make your way to the central machine, then go around the front of it. Use your sonic screwdriver on the console, then quickly run between the four Daleks and up the ramp to Amy. Talk to her to trigger your split-second escape plan!
Congratulations - you've finished City of the Daleks, saved the Earth and made sure that Amy continues to exist. Not bad for a day's work!
