Start!
The brilliant BBC series continues in this brand-new online episode. City of the Daleks is the first of four special Doctor Who games that you can download for free from the official website. Wicked!
You play as the Doctor and his assistant Amy, as they go back in time to 1963 to battle the Daleks in London! Sneak around to avoid trouble in Trafalgar Square, then visit the awesome Dalek home planet of Skaro for the first time ever. Make sure the Daleks don’t catch you or you’ll be exterminated!
All four episodes are part of the official Doctor Who story, which means the Doctor and Amy might talk about the games in the episodes you see on TV!
What's the story?
Thousands of Daleks invade Earth in 1963, destroying all humans except one. The Doctor has to travel to Skaro to change these events and save the world! Amy and the Doctor spot the last woman on Earth who helps them escape from the Daleks so they can hide in the underground station! Because all life on Earth has been wiped out in the past, Amy shouldn't exist and she starts to disappear bit by bit. The Doctor has a race against time to rescue her and the planet!
Tell your human friends about Megaton or we will EX-TER-MIN-ATE!
Deadly Daleks!
The Doctor and Amy need to be really careful to avoid the Daleks’ deadly gaze. Whenever those evil pepperpots are nearby, The Doctor and Amy will crouch down automatically to stay out of sight! Watch for the Daleks’ cone of vision. As long as it’s green, you haven’t been seen. If it’s yellow or red, better run or you’re dead! Most of the time you’ll get exterminated as soon as you’re seen, so wait for a Dalek to turn its back before you move forward! You can even creep about behind the Daleks, but get too close and they'll detect you!Looking Good!
The Doctor and Amy both look mega realistic, and that’s because Matt Smith and Karen Gillan were filmed and their movements were put into the game! Not only do they look great, but they sound perfect too. Matt and Karen’s voices are used all the way through the game! There are tons of jokes in the game, so just like the TV show the game will give you loadsa laffs!
The stealthy bits can be a bit tricky, especially as the controls and camera can be wobbly, so the game can get a bit frustrating when you're creeping past lots of Daleks. The puzzles aren't too difficult, although we did gnash our teeth at some of the mazes where you have to drag electronic components through an electrified maze. If you touch the sides once, you have to start over from the beginning. Grr!
