Woo-hoo! Mario’s latest space adventure sends you soaring through the stars as you take a second trip around the Super Mario Galaxy. With over 40 brand new galaxies and 120 new stars to collect, this is the super-sequel you’ve been waiting for!
Ride Mario’s dino-chum Yoshi and gobble up enemies with his extendable tongue! Fight the biggest bosses in the galaxy, with gigantic, planet-munching dragons and a super-sized Bowser! Tackle the toughest levels in the universe with the help of hint videos and Cosmic Guide Rosalina!
The game begins with Mario running through the pages of a storybook before Peach is kidnapped by Bowser. Again! Luckily, a magical Luma helps Mario out, with a huge planet shaped just like Mario himself, which you can use to fly between all the galaxies! You can warp straight to the galaxy you want to visit, but you can also explore the planet. As you get more Power Stars, you’ll even get new visitors to Starship Mario!
You had to get all 120 stars in the first game to play as Luigi. Not this time - Mario’s brother appears much earlier in the game! Maybe there’s a new secret character at the end of this one…

If you keep losing lives on a level, Cosmic Guide Rosalina will appear to help out. She’ll offer to complete the stage for you, but you’ll only get a bronze Power Star instead of a Gold one! If you just want a clue on what to do next, you can watch the Hint TVs which appear at the trickiest bits to show you the easiest way of getting past them. They’re a big help!Powered-up!
Check out the cool new power-ups that can help Mario get the Power Stars and save Peach: Cloud Mario! Pick this up and three cute fluffy clouds will follow Mario around. Shake the remote in mid-air to create a cloud platform that you can use to cross huge gaps! Rock Mario! Shake the remote to transform into a rolling rock! Knock enemies down like skittles or zoom up massive ramps to speed onto distant platforms. Awesome! Spin Drill! This device can drill through planets to the other side. Use it to surprise enemies or to reach places you wouldn’t normally be able to get to! Yoshi! It’s time to welcome back Mario’s green dino friend, Yoshi! He’s greedy for food, and that comes in really handy: Tongue Grab! Yoshi can hook onto flowers with his tongue and swing from them, or even swallow small enemies whole! Bell Pepper! Munch one of these fiery fruits and Yoshi will turn red and start to run really fast! He’s hard to control this way, but he’ll get you get up steep ramps without any trouble. Blimp Fruit! Eat this and Yoshi will inflate and turn blue. Mario grabs onto him to float up to high platforms. Just make sure you’ve landed safely before the air runs out! Glimmer Bulb Berry! With this, a glowing yellow Yoshi can reveal platforms you can’t see. Be careful to make it safely across gaps – if the light fades, you’ll fall and lose a life! Flapping Fluzzard! Wii have lift-off!
