We've all dreamed of having toys that come to life, but that's exactly what happens in Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure! The game comes with a range of real action figures that you can bring into the gameworld! How does it work? Let's find out!
These toys aren't just dumb lumps of plastic though. They have computer brains! Each one will remember how much experience you've collected, what level you've reached and which powers you've unlocked. You can even unlock hats and costumes in the game, and the toy will remember those as well!
There are 30 different playable characters to collect, and each one can be customised and levelled up in your own way. Each character will have a special elemental power, from Air, Earth, Fire, Water, Tech, Life and Undead, so there's loads of variety!
The game comes with a special portal that plugs into your console. When you place one of the character toys on the portal, that character appears in the game under your control! Pretty cool, eh? If you want to swap to another character in the game, just change to a different toy!
That's not all. If you want to play with a friend, they just have to bring their Spyro toys round to your house, put them on your portal and you're instantly playing co-op together, with your own unique characters! There are competitive multiplayer arenas as well, if you want to prove who's toughest!
Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure will be out on Nintendo Wii and other formats later this year. The game will come with three free action figures and the plug-in portal. Megaton was lucky to get a sneak preview of the game in action, and it's looking really wicked!
