First Look!!
OK, these guys are looking just as cute as the Kinectimals. Maybe even cuter. So lets not pretend that you'll be crowned the King or Queen of Cooltown any time soon if someone catches you playing with a soppy wide-eyed dragon, but the chance to customise your pet and make them unique has definitely got our attention!
As well as creating and colouring your pet, and playing with them as they romp around your room, there will be challenges and championships to train for. As your pet copies everything you do, you'll need to run and jump to get them through obstacle courses. Maybe think twice about that sneaky extra Mars bar, eh?

Look, we love Kinectimals. They're lovely and fun. But they're not exactly cool are they? Wouldn't it be fun if you could customise your virtual pet? Maybe give them wings. Or turn them into a robot. Or give them scales and horns. Well, that's exactly what new Kinect game Fantastic Pets lets you do!
Fantastic Pets isn't just promising to let you go wild and create your own freaks of nature though. The developers are boasting that it's the most advanced "augmented reality" game since Sony's EyePet. That means that not only will you be able to use the Kinect camera to let your pet loose in your own home, but Kinect will "read" the layout of your room, work out the distance and depth of all your furniture, and then your pet will be able to hide under your real sofa, or jump up onto a real table on the screen. We can't wait to see how (and if) it works!
Fantastic Pets will squawk onto the Xbox 360 in the middle of April. You'll need a Kinect sensor to play. Duh.
