Review!!
Your character is drawn deeper and deeper into the jungle by mysterious visions from 30,000 years ago. Turns out he's destined to save the world, by harnessing the energy from two warring sister goddesses, Chaos and Order.
The big twist in Outland comes from the two different energies. Red is dark chaos energy, blue is the light energy of order. Once you get access to both of them, you can switch from one to the other whenever you want. While you're blue, you'll be immune to attacks from light-powered traps and monsters and can use light platforms. Swap around and you can walk through red traps without harm. You can also only damage enemies of the opposite colour.
Outland is a really cool game. It looks amazing, and if you enjoy classic platforming mixed with the sort of epic world you expect from a modern adventure, it's an absolute must-have. And it's really cheap as well!
What do you get if you cross Avatar with Tron? The answer might look a lot like this downloadable adventure, in which you run, jump and scramble through maze-like jungles, juggling the powers of light and dark energy to survive.
As you explore the enormous joined-up levels, glowing markers keep you on track to the next story objective, but if you wander off you'll find bonus goodies. Your hero is really acrobatic as well, with amazing animation. He runs, jumps and climbs like a real superhero!
You soon need fast fingers to swap to the right colour to get through each section, but the game keeps giving you new powers and abilities until you're really kicking butt!
