Review!!
There are 20 games in this selection, which feels a bit stingy after getting over 30 games in the last Wii game. But, hey! At least we get to use Kinect for this batch, which means there are enough new game styles to make it worth a look.
There's a lot of boring stuff as well, though. We've seen quite enough "throw the hoop/ball at the peg/hole" games, thank you very much, while things like the Wheel of Fortune and Wodin the fortune teller aren't really games at all. Out of the twenty games, there are about five that are worth coming back to for more.
It is nice to see the game making full use of the Xbox Avatars. You can dress up your avatar with costumes you win in the game (they only work in the game, sadly) and avatars from your Friends List will also appear in the carnival park.
Carnival Games has made it way from the Wii over to the Xbox 360 and Kinect. Will the lack of a waggling stick make it better or worse? Read on to find out!
The best games are the ones that really make full use of Kinect. Waving your hands in the air to catch stars while you thunder around a roller coaster, or striking a pose to match the bricks in a wall you're about to smash through - these are really fun ideas, and a real laugh to play.
Carnival Games In Action is a decent start for the series on Kinect, but there just aren't enough games that are worth playing over and over. The games that make full use of Kinect show that there's a lot more that can be done than just using the same old throwing games over and over.
