First Look!!
A mysterious enemy (who will probably turn out to be Dr Robotnik again) is up to no good, and has created time-holes that are causing all sorts of bother. Modern Sonic - the taller, sleeker hedgehog - heads back in time to meet Classic Sonic - the shorter, cuter hedgehog - and put things right.
Classic Sonic levels will play like the original 2D platformers that made him a gaming legend. Viewed from the side, you'll dash, leap and spin through loops and pipes to get to the end of the stage. Modern Sonic will play the same stage but will take a different route. You'll now view the game from behind Sonic, as he zooms through high speed rollercoaster ramps, dodging obstacles and bashing baddies.
What's better than Sonic the Hedgehog? How about two Sonics the Hedgehogs? That's what you'll get in this new adventure, which finds our spiky blue hero travelling back in time to team up with himself!
2011 is the year of Sonic's 20th birthday, and so the game features levels inspired by all his previous hits. You'll be able to play the levels as Modern Sonic or Classic Sonic, and the gameplay will change for each character.
Sonic Generations will be released for Xbox 360 and PS3 later this year.
