Review!!
This really is the same game that appeared on the 360 and PS3, scrunched down into the palm of your hand. All 35 characters are included, along with all the game modes and attack styles. The only obvious difference is that the backgrounds are no longer animated but, really, who cares? Let's fight!
Do you struggle with all those combo moves in fighting games? Just switch to Simple Mode and you can set up to four shortcuts on the touch screen for the move sequences you use most. If you want to be hardcore, stick with Pro Mode and have fingertip control over every punch and kick!
3D or not 3D?
The 3D effect makes Super Street Fighter look even cooler, as if you're controlling little action figures rather than flat images on a screen. If you really want to wow your mates, switch to the shoulder viewpoint which really puts you in the middle of the fight. It's not as easy to play in this view, but it looks fantastic! So although 3D doesn't really add anything to the gameplay, you haven't seen Street Fighter until you've seen it on the 3DS!
Super Street Fighter IV is one of the best fighting games ever, but can a new edition for the Nintendo 3DS bring anything new to the series? Let's find out!
As you play, you'll earn Player Points that can be traded in for cool figures of the game's colourful characters. These aren't just 3D toys though. Each one has its own fighting stats. Pick a selection of your three toughest figures, and whenever you walk past another 3DS owner your figures will fight it out. Next time you switch on the game, you'll find out how many battles you've had and how your team did!
As well as the Street Pass mode, there are all the multiplayer options you expect. You can fight against a friend using a local wireless connection, or go online and fight against other players on the internet. You get to pick whether you want to fight Pro or Lite, so everybody can find a match suited to their skill level.
